Welcome to our Diploma Program. We are pleased you are interested in completing the requirements needed for a high school diploma, and that you have chosen to learn more about and perhaps even apply for a place in our tuition-free online program. We are very excited about helping you meet your educational goals. We look forward to answering your questions, and hopefully working with and assisting you in the process once your application has been approved.
The first step is to complete a DIPLOMA PROGRAM application packet. *Please be sure to download and fill out the correct application packet. Once we receive your information, and request and receive your previous school records, you will be considered for acceptance into the program.
After your application is approved a personal Plan Of Study will be set up for you to help you work toward completing the required credits for a high school diploma. The requirement of 24 credits is a Haven U.S.D. 312 Board of Education adopted policy and must be met in order to receive a diploma. A diploma can be awarded at any time during the year when the requirements are met and verified by the HVA school coordinator. Our program is designed to be completed in one year, but students may spread their courses out over more semesters if needed. Students are required to complete a minimum of six credits each school year. All assignments in a particular course must be completed no later than the last day of the school year for the student to earn credit in that course..
Students enrolled in the program will be responsible for providing their own Internet service. A high-speed Internet connection is recommended and students may use their own computer or laptop. Students needing to lease a school laptop will be required to pay a $100 leasing fee in full at the beginning of the school year. There are no other computer fees if the laptop and charger are returned in good condition.
Adult Diploma Program classes will be set up for each student as his or her enrollment is approved. Students will be expected to log in on a regular basis to complete course work and communicate with teachers. Expectations are for students to complete work each week to keep up with assignments so that each new week is started on schedule. Students will be expected to make adequate progress each week to avoid being withdrawn from the program.
